Following the great persecution of the church in 1977, Christians in Pentecostal churches were scattered and on their own in most cases. The organisation structures could not hold any more in the persecution. So after the persecution we started reorganising ourselves and instead of seeking affiliation with foreign denominations we started this indigenous denomination in 1980 with 12 people. We registered formally with the Ugandan Government in 1983.

The 12 people are the leaders of the denomination. There are already 66 local churches in the four districts of Apach, Lira, Soroti and Masindi.

The name came from the vision of the 12 who felt that they were being moved to start a ministry that would exercise the healing power of Jesus around the world and more especially in Uganda at a time after the years of war and turmoil when such a healing was most needed.

The programme and vision we have now is to expand our work generally, plant churches and develop leadership capacity - we would want to build churches, do evangelistic work and get engaged in income generating projects to fund evangelism.

At the moment our only source of money is offerings from Christians.
