INN-ROADS

Background

Peter Marchand speaks of what lay behind the Inn-roads vision:

"In 1990 I co-ordinated a large crusade with Reinhard Bonnke and Christian For All Nations. We spent considerable sums of money hiring equipment, none of which could we use again. Added to that, 95% of those who attended were already Christians. The problem was the threshold - the general public were not going to cross the line, enter the tent on their own, so we were entirely dependent on Christians to bring people. Many did, and most of them were converted."

"But I realised even more sharply that the walls of the church building or even of the crusade tent keep out the very people one is trying to reach!"

"At the same time the activities of the BBC Radio One Roadshow were brought to my attention, and I thought that if they could just roll up somewhere, hold a morning or afternoon or even a day's show, then why couldn't we? a) We would be accessible to people who need to hear the gospel, and not be hidden away in a church building or whatever, and b) we could pick up our equipment and move on to the next place with it all intact."

From then on funds were raised and a forty-foot mobile stage trailer was purchased second-hand, together with a suitable tractor unit. The unit was adapted, up-graded and decorated. Finally, suitable sound and lighting equipment was purchased and the Inn-roads vision became a reality.

By invitation we have travelled to and preached in Spain, and Portugal. Currently lack of finance and invitation prevents us from returning. The mobile stage is now available to other groups to hire and use, and we are working in conjunction with Premier Radio, London, to bring the good news of Jesus to where people are.
